Our Team is made up of one veterinarian - Dr. Pam Cuevas - and two veterinary assistants; Dasha Ott and Daniel Cuevas. We have been together since LaGrange Park Cat Clinic opened its doors. Dasha and Daniel are involved in all of the tasks of the clinic. They do everything from answering the phones, to monitoring the patients, to maintaining the clinic. Dr. Cuevas states "I would not be able to give the loving attention to my patients without their capable assistance."
At LaGrange Park Cat Clinic, we believe that part of our mission is to be involved in the community. Thus, all of the team members have been or are involved in various community activites.
In 2006, while still living in North Carolina, Dr. Cuevas volunteered as veterinarian for Conservators Center Inc. located outside of Mebane, NC. CCI is a nonprofit group that works to preserve endangered species. While working with the group, Dr. Cuevas performed orthopedic surgery on a lion to correct a birth defect, dental care for another lion, and surgery on two tigers to drain abcesses. Sadly, Dr. Cuevas had to give up direct involvement when she moved to Illinois in 2008.
Additionally, Dr. Cuevas is a lector at St. Louise de Marillac Church and a member of both the Westchester Chamber of Commerce and the LaGrange Park Bussiness Association. She also provides services for CatNap from the Heart (shelter), Triple R Pets (feral cat assistance), and a few other cat organizations in the Westchester area.
Veterinary Assistant Dasha Ott has been a member of the animal welfare community since 1997 when she started with CatNap from the Heart. She currently volunteers for Triple R Pets (www.triplerpets.org) a nonprofit organization dedicated to controlling the feral cat population through TNR (trap/neuter/release) efforts.
Veterinary Assistant Daniel Cuevas is also a lector at St. Louise de Marillac Church and participates in various community educational and recreational events.
